Edinburgh, Scotland

(May 31 - June 2, 2005)

They drive on left side of the road here.

The hotel room was huge by European standards. Two blocks from the "Royal Mile" where all the shoping and site seeing is done.

They plopped right into bed when we entered the room (4:00 pm local time but 11:00 am Eastern time)

We walked up to Sir Arthur's seat. Doesn't look very tall.

The view from the top of Arthurs Seat was spectacular!

Its a long ways down.

Dogbert suveys his kingdom.

Sarah counted dead snails all the way to the top (and back again!)

Tour of Edinburgh Castle

It rained most of the time we were there. The high temperature was about 55 degress.

Edinburgh started out in about 900 AD and the Castle had a long two seige in 1573.

The Royal Apattments. The Honours as they are called, the Scotish crown, septer, and sword, were in the castle.

We saw them but no pictures were allowed.

David, Dad, & Dogbert got a real bang out of this!

Sarah trying Haggis for the first time (a Scottish dish - just don't ask what it is!)

Sarah drinking her first whisky (Scottish whisky of course!) The guidbook says that haggis tastes best with a whisky and Sarah always does what she is told!

David's first sip of whisky!
